KATHMANDU, May 13: The Government of Nepal has set up border outpost in Chharung, near Kalapani of Darchula district on Wednesday, four days after India opened a link road to Manasarovar via Lipulekh which lies in Nepali territory.
The border outpost has been established 12 km away from the disputed area of disputed Kalapani region at the presence of Armed Police Force AIG Narayan Babu Thapa and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s security advisor Indra Jit Rai, where 25 APF personnel have been deployed today under the leadership of Inspector Mili Bahadur Chand.
The APF contingent has been mobilized for border security in the area to counter the Indian action of unilaterally constructing and inaugurating a road by encroaching on Nepali territory.
More police force will be deployed there as well as required logistics will also be supplied in the next few days.
Currently, the BOP has been set up in a rented house. But the APF is planning to build its own building and hospital.
