KATHMANDU, Oct 18: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will embark on an official visit to Japan from October 20-22 to attend the Ceremony of the Enthronement of Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan scheduled for October 22, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal.
Bhandari will leave for Tokyo after wrapping up the ongoing five-day state visit to Myanmar.
After the Ceremony, Prez Bhandari will attend the Court Banquet to be hosted by Japanese Emperor Naruhito.
During the visit, Bhandari will hold meetings with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Indian President Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
She will also attend the welcome reception hosted in her honor by the Ambassador of Nepal to Japan Mrs. Prativa Rana and the welcome program to be organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Japan.
The president will be accompanied by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and other high ranking officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She will return to Kathmandu on Oct 23.
